DJ Soundwave

This image of Soundwave, the 80’s icon, was designed as the cover for a local musician’s initial cd release. The artist explored combining dance music and odd samples, occasionally referencing childhood cartoons.

We decided on the Soundwave iconography as it holds those nostalgic characteristics. At the same time, the robot’s interchangeable tapes speak directly to the copy & paste culture of DJing.
